Our story, mission, and commitment to Malawi
GSMXpand Unlocking Service is a Malawi-based team of smartphone specialists dedicated to helping everyday phone owners regain access to their devices and fix software issues. We understand that when your phone stops working, it's frustrating—and sometimes the solutions aren't clear.
What started as a side project to help friends and family with their locked phones has grown into a trusted service serving customers across Malawi. We're not a call center or a reseller—we're a small, hands-on team that actually performs the work and communicates directly with you.
In 2023, our founder encountered a common problem: a friend had inherited a used Samsung phone that was still locked to the previous owner's network. Local service shops either couldn't help or quoted prices that didn't make sense. After successfully unlocking the phone through technical knowledge and online research, more and more people in the community started asking for similar help.
What became clear was that there was a gap in Malawi's smartphone service market. Most people either:
GSMXpand was created to fill that gap. We wanted to build a service that was transparent, honest, and focused on customer communication—not just getting the job done quickly, but making sure customers understood what was happening and why.
To help everyday Malawians regain access to their smartphones and fix software issues through clear communication, honest guidance, and reliable technical expertise.
We believe your phone should work for you—not lock you out. And if it does stop working, you deserve to understand exactly what's happening and what your options are.
No hidden fees. No shortcuts. We explain what we're doing, why we're doing it, and what you can expect. If a device can't be unlocked, we tell you that too.
We use verified tools, correct firmware, and industry-standard practices. Your phone's safety and functionality matter to us as much as they do to you.
You communicate directly with the team doing the work, not a call center or middleman. WhatsApp, email, or phone—we're accessible and responsive during business hours.
We don't just fix your phone—we explain how to avoid the problem next time. Our blog and guides are free resources for anyone wanting to understand their device better.
If we can't help or if a service won't work for your device, we say so upfront. Your trust is more important than a quick sale.
We're based in Malawi, we understand the local market, and we're committed to serving our community with solutions that work for the Malawian context.
Whether you're locked out by FRP, stuck on one network, or just need your phone fixed, we're here to help.
